alignment: chaotic evil. he's a bit of an imperial bastard.

romantic inclinations: while charming, gideon isn't the most romantic. he likes his flings. at least that's what he says. he's far more focused on his work than he is on getting a spouse.
background: a native of kuat and orphaned at the age of ten, gideon merrick hask has spent his life mostly alone - alone, of course, until he met iden and garrick versio. with them, he had something of a family - he was the son garrick always wanted and the brother iden kept on his toes. everything was a competition between them, and though they were always, it was never quite enough to overtake her.
they were appointed to inferno squad, with iden as the squad commander, shortly after the destruction of the death star, along with del meeko and seyn marana. seyn was killed during a mission to keep the other three from being discovered as imperial agents, and gideon never quite recovered from watching her die - she was only 20 years old, another little sister to him. gideon served on inferno squad until a year before the battle of jakku when iden and del left the empire.
he met elaine holcross, a doctor, and the two were married within three months of knowing one another.
during the battle of jakku, he faced iden in the dog-fight and was shot down. he recovered on brendol hux's star-destroyer, the absolution. for a time after, he was on 'medical leave' and unable to maintain himself. his mental state was deteriorating rapidly. he was diagnosed c-ptsd and for a time refused treatment.
elaine would leave him, and though he was angry... he understood. still, that's when the drinking began. and went on. and on. and on. until eventually, he landed himself in beacon, a rehabilitation center for mental health and substance abuse. through beacon, he found tessa, his therapist and psychiatrist.
now, he's a commander aboard the first order star-destroyer, the retribution. a mostly-functioning man with a mostly-functioning brain.
